Title: Holystones and How To Make Them
Categories: Herb Info
Yield: 1 Info

Being a healing ball of herbs and wax, such as will relieve the pains of small injuries and of the aging disorders.

This recipe was given to me by my paternal grandmother, who was most at ease with the healing herbs. It was given to her by her grandmother, who recieved it from hers, etc. The original recipe did not call for the oils mentioned here, but I use them in the interest of speed, (the curse of our time.) My grandmother and all those before her, used beeswax and oils pressed or steeped over long periods of time, which you may do if you are so inclined, and if you have more time to spare than I.

Melt one block (1/4 lb) paraffin wax over boiling water. Do not splash the hot wax as it burns greatly. When the wax is melted, add 20 drops of Oil of Camphor and 20 drops of Oil of Wintergreen. Let the wax cool in the pan, removed from the boiling water.

When the wax is almost hard, and begins to look white again, first being certain that it will not burn you to touch it, roll a clump (about 2 1/2 tablespoons) into a ball. Set each ball aside to cool thoroughly. Wrap each ball in aluminum foil to preserve the scents until they are needed. I suggest you keep the Holystone in the refrigerator, to maintain the consistency and strength of scent.

To use the Holystone, remove the foil and simply roll the ball over the area that is injured, or that feels the pinch of arthritis. Roll gently, do not attempt to massage the area. The body will take whatever cooling or warming it requires from the Holystone, with very little effort on your part. When the desired relief is gained, wrap the Holystone again in foil to conserve the healing fumes, put it away and intone a prayer that you may never need to use it again.

Please enjoy this little recipe, and pass it along to those you feel would benefit from it, with my best wishes.
